Fun Projects

Hi Ladies! I am super excited to be featured on today's blog post! What an honor. I am here to share a few Fast and Easy ( and inexpensive ) ideas.

First up is my New Year's Survival kit. I don't know how many out there are in the same boat I am this year, my youngest and my niece are legal drinking age. This means it's the 1st time they are talking about going 'OUT' for New Years. I have faith that I raised them to be responsible young adults, but I am still a worried mom/aunt. So I made them a New Year's Survival kit.

Supplies -
    1 sheet 8/12 x 11
     TSB image Snowman Father Time

Use 1 sheet 8 1/2x11 and print images - SnowmanFather Time fits the theme well

Make score lines @ 1/2" and 3"
Then flip it over and score at 1/2" and 3" again
Cut it into 4 to make 4 'pillow boxes
Each one holds
    - 1 chap stick ( for soft lips for new year's kiss )
    - 1 mini tic tac ( for decent breath for new year's kiss )
    - a $5 bill ( I am buying first drink ).

I am writing important info inside ( in case they lose their phones or they run out of battery ) The info includes -
      - cab company info (with prepaid ride code that our local cab offers )
      - Designated Driver phone numbers ( hubby and uncle agreed to do this ).

These are super fast and easy to make, and will fit in jeans pockets for easy use.

The 2nd project is a countdown board. I used TSB Image Snowman Father Time on several different types of boards and several themes as well. boards.

Dry erase board -

Kraft paper with a chipboard backing and shelf for large dice to countdown to Christmas.

Blackboard - As I was making this one I decided to leave off what we were counting down to.

So we used him to countdown to the lightshow we went to, then to our 24th anniversary, then Christmas, now to New Year's eve, then Hubby's Birthday, then eldest's birthday then Spring ( I think you get the picture ).

Using Snowman Father Time you can count down to anything. Imagine making one for a student's locker, days until big test, or winter dance.

If you can't get a dry erase or chalk board you can paint anything with chalkboard paint, OR do it on a picture frame.

Christmas may be over for this year but we have lots of winter left  and being indoors means lots of craft time ( if we are lucky ) so have some fun, try new things. With all the holiday images on sale and the new release coming out I am sure there is an image that will call to you.
Enough rambling for now :) I hope these inspire you to make something and share it with us.

Snowmen on Easel Cards!!

Happy Wednesday!! Don't forget that ALL images at The Stamping Boutique including Glitterbabe's fabulous images are on sale for 40% off until the end of the month!! Head over and get some of those images you've been eyeing!

I am so excited about the creativity of our Design Team!!

Today I have a project created by Miki Greg

Miki used the following images from The Stamping Boutique
End Cards - Bring it On Snowman
     Middle Card - Snowfriends

She also included directions on how to create the easel card itself!!

Miki's Super Fast and Easy Easel cards

To make 3 card bases will take 1 12x12 sheet of cardstock, some adhesive, scoreboard/tool ( or you could do it by just folding ) and a cutter ( or way to cut fairly squarely )

1) Score at 4" 6" and 8"
2) Cut ACROSS the score lines at 4" and 8" to give you 3 pieces of 4"x12" with 3 score lines
3) fold in half on 6" then open
4) fold far left square over the middle on 4" score and lay it flat with long side on top and fold away from you
5) fold last large square up over middle section - unfold
6) to adhere top to fold action apply glue to 2x4 section between 6" score and top square fold
and you are done

***couple of notes -
  •  you can use pattern paper once you are comfortable with how card works so you can make sure you get the pattern UP where it should be up ( it's best if you use a multi directional paper if you choose)
  •  you should make a 'stop' this can be where you put a sentiment or some slightly 3D effect like a small bling will work
  • you can add ribbon or twine etc and glue in-between the fold action
  • Remember to have fun

Other Reminders

DIY planner bookmark

Hello I don't know about you but I've started thinking about the new year approaching.  I've been using a planner in some form or another since I was given my first one in school.  Though for 2016 I'm diving into the planner world and I'm excited. I'm going to decorate with washi tape, ebellishments and make my planner fun but also funtion for my needs in the coming year.

I've got to write things down to clear my head and just keep track of it all. So if you're like me in this and love planners then keep reading.

I decided to make a to do list bookmark with TSB image "Multi-task Girl".  I put it all together and laminated it.  To write on the tasks I used a high qauilty dry erase marker so it won't smear onto my nicely decorated planner pages or you could also put a matching size vellum or paper piece over it to help with this too.

Happy planning!
